KöR Deep Teeth Whitening in Beverly Hills
KöR Deep Bleaching is the professional whitening system we use at Applemint when a patient wants the whitest shade their natural teeth can reach, and wants it to last. Instead of a single bright-light session, KöR combines about two weeks of overnight whitening at home in custom-sealed trays with a final in-office visit at our Beverly Hills office on La Cienega. The result is deeper whitening than drugstore strips or one-hour light treatments typically reach, including on stubborn yellow, brown and gray stains.

Why KöR Whitens Deeper
Most whitening falls short for two reasons: the gel has lost strength before it reaches your teeth, and saliva starts breaking it down within minutes. KöR was designed around both problems.
KöR gels are kept refrigerated from the time they are made until they reach our office, because whitening gel loses potency at room temperature. Your KöR-Seal trays are made in KöR's own laboratory to fit tightly along the gumline. That seal keeps saliva out, so the gel keeps working for 6 to 10 hours while you sleep instead of the 20 to 30 minutes typical of ordinary trays.
That longer, fuller exposure lets the gel reach stains deep inside the tooth, which is why KöR is often used for cases other systems could not lighten, including tetracycline staining.
Is KöR Whitening Right for You?
KöR works on natural tooth enamel. It is a good fit if you:
- Have yellow, brown or gray discoloration from coffee, tea, red wine, smoking or age
- Tried whitening strips, store-bought trays or an in-office light treatment and saw little change, or saw it fade quickly
- Have deep or internal stains, such as tetracycline staining, which may need an extended protocol
- Are planning veneers, crowns or bonding and want to set a brighter shade first
If you have untreated cavities, active gum disease or significant gum recession, Dr. Julius will treat those first so whitening is safe and comfortable. Crowns, veneers and fillings do not change color with whitening, so if any are visible when you smile, we will plan for them to match your new shade. As with any whitening treatment, we recommend waiting until after pregnancy and breastfeeding.
KöR Compared with Other Whitening Options
- Whitening strips and store-bought trays. Low-strength gel in loose-fitting strips or trays. Fine for light surface stains, but saliva dilutes the gel quickly and results are modest.
- One-visit light whitening. Whitens in about an hour, but teeth dry out during treatment, so part of the change can fade over the next few days as they rehydrate.
- KöR Deep Bleaching. Takes a few weeks from start to finish, but pairs at-home and in-office whitening with sealed trays and fresh, refrigerated gel for deeper, longer-lasting results.
Caring for Your Results
For the first 48 hours after your in-office visit, your teeth pick up new stains more easily. Skip coffee, tea, red wine, dark sauces, berries and tobacco during that window.
After that, keep your trays and wear them overnight with KöR maintenance gel on a regular schedule, typically about once a month. Most patients find this keeps their shade stable. Regular cleanings at Applemint help too, since they remove the surface stains that build up between visits.
The Process, Step by Step
Consultation and exam
Dr. Julius examines your teeth and gums, records your starting shade and confirms KöR is right for you. Any cavities or gum problems are treated first.
Custom KöR-Seal trays
We take precise impressions of your teeth, and KöR's laboratory makes trays designed to seal against your gums.
Overnight whitening at home
You wear the trays with refrigerated KöR gel while you sleep, usually for about two weeks. The gel stays in your refrigerator between uses.
In-office whitening visit
You return for an in-office KöR session that takes your shade deeper than home whitening alone. No lights or lasers are used.
Maintenance
Occasional overnight wear with maintenance gel keeps your smile at its new shade.

- Does KöR Whitening cause sensitivity?
- Most patients have little or no sensitivity. KöR uses a desensitizing protocol, gels formulated for comfort and trays that keep the gel off your gums. If you have a history of sensitive teeth, tell Dr. Julius at your consultation so we can adjust your schedule.
- How long do KöR results last?
- With the maintenance protocol, which is occasional overnight wear with KöR gel, results can last for many years. Without maintenance, teeth gradually pick up new stains from food, drinks and age, just as they would without whitening.
- How white will my teeth get?
- KöR reports results of up to eight shades or more, but every smile responds differently. Teeth with deep or tetracycline stains may need an extended protocol. We record your starting shade so you can see your progress.
- How long does the KöR process take?
- Plan on about three to four weeks from consultation to final visit. That covers the time to make your custom trays, about two weeks of overnight whitening at home, and your in-office session.
- Will KöR whiten my crowns, veneers or fillings?
- No. Whitening only changes the color of natural teeth. If you have visible restorations, we will talk about replacing them after whitening so they match your new shade.
- Can KöR remove tetracycline stains?
- KöR is one of the few whitening systems designed for tetracycline staining, which is among the hardest discoloration to treat. These cases usually need a longer protocol with additional in-office visits, and results depend on how severe the staining is.
- Is KöR safe for my enamel?
- Yes. Professional whitening under a dentist's supervision is considered safe for enamel. The most common side effect is temporary sensitivity, which usually fades within a day or two.
